As a fully qualified physiotherapist with 30 years experience I have studied and practiced new treatment methods as they become proven. One such treatment that I have had remarkable success with is MBST, a technology from Germany that has successfully been used to treat 80,000 patients.
MBST or Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Therapy is applied using machines that apply a magnetic field around the affected area and are similar to the Magnetic Resonance Tomography machines that are used in many hospitals around the world. It works by encouraging the body to regenerate body tissue back to its normal healthy state. Specifically it regenerates cartilage tissue which increases joint mobility and reduces pain.
Having treated 120 people to date (November 2009) using MBST all have had a positive outcome. Many have had remarkable success including patients who have had debilitating arthritic conditions that once treated have given them normal pain free movement and it has transformed many of their lives.
Not every patient is suitable for MBST treatment so each case has to be assessed on a case by case basis. Most MBST treatments are combined with traditional physiotherapy and manipulation to get the best out of any treatments given.
MBST has been used in England to treat private patients since 2007 so it is still relatively new which is why it is not that well known in this country as it is in Europe and especially Germany where the idea was conceived. There are now many studies that have shown MBST to be an effective treatment to relive pain and repair cartilage and other injuries.
A testimonial
I have suffered with arthritis in my right knee for years, having had cartilage operations on the knee.
The pain and discomfort at times was unbearable. The consultant I was under at the time said that in the not too distant future I would need a replacement knee joint.
Along came MBST and after five consecutive days of treatment things started to improve. My physiotherapist (Ann) did warn me that it could take up to 10 weeks before I started to feel the benefit.
In actual fact after about 4 to 5 weeks the pain had decreased by about 50 percent and I could bend my knee further back.
After the ten weeks the pain had virtually disappeared, just a little discomfort after a long day at work.
I was encouraged to continue playing golf by my physiotherapist.
Thank you very much MBST, it feels like I already have a new knee. By the way MBST has not improved my golf.
