Golfers tend to be passionate about their sport and will continue to play even if they are experiencing pain and discomfort. A golfer may continue up until the point they need an operation to replace a knee or a hip. MBST and physiotherapy can be used to treat many types of golfing related injury or pain that is hindering your enjoyment of golf.
Most people are not aware that there are treatments available that can prevent the need for an operation, treat numerous types of condition that may be reducing your enjoyment of golf and speed up post operative recovery. Often continuing to play golf with pain can lead to the worsening of the site of an injury or putting more strain on the surrounding area leading to greater pain.
MBST along with physiotherapy can be used to treat the injury and reduce the pain allowing your body to heal so that you can play pain free and with a great level of flexibility.
Your injury may have been caused by something as innocuous as the repetition of picking up a golf ball or lifting your golf clubs in and out of the car. Your injury or condition may not have been related to golfing at all. Conditions such as arthritis can often ruin the enjoyment of golf and make it more difficult to play. Walking distances may be causing pain and therefore reducing the amount of time that you can spend on the course.
Although back pain is a common condition generally it is the most common golfer's injury making up one fifth of golfing injuries. The onset of low back pain can be slow and lingering or can occur very suddenly. With slow onset a golfer will continue to play but with a sudden occurrence you can often not. MBST can rectify low back pain and can clear the symptoms causing the pain in the lower back.
The cause of back pain may not always be immediately obvious, you may have been lifting your golf clubs out of the car which may have weakened your back but the pain does not occur until you bend down soon afterwards which can trigger the pain. Back pain can be caused by a number of different activities including walking distance, pulling or lifting.
After pain subsides it does not mean that the injury has healed, the pain may be triggered again, for example when bending down to pick up a golf ball. Low back pain is not caused by the twisting of the back but by bending over and pulling on the affected area of the lower back. Twisting affects the upper back and shoulders and the gripping action affects the arms.
Golfing injuries to the shoulder typically occur due to damage to the structures of the shoulder such as a muscle or muscles of the rotator cuff, tendon or a tendon around the shoulder.
Shoulder pain can also be as a result of inflammation within the shoulder joint. These areas of damage can result in restriction in movement of the shoulder which can create more damage as the flexibility of your golf swing is reduced. If flexibility is lost the strain is put on other areas such as the upper back.
Neck pain is a common problem that can be caused by a number of different activities which may not necessarily have been caused as a result of playing golf. However it may be hindering your game or even preventing you from playing golf altogether.
Playing golf with neck pain can make the muscles from the neck to the shoulder very tight and therefore reducing your golf performance and enjoyment. The tightening of the muscles will be as a result of the body trying to protect the area of injury within the neck.
A physiotherapy assessment will be able to determine the damage and with physiotherapy instruction and MBST treatment the neck pain and muscle tightening can be resolved.
There are many conditions that can affect the knee that are not necessarily caused by a golfing injury. You may suffer from arthritis in the knee or wear and tear of the cartilage in the knee joint which is causing the pain and discomfort. The pain can affect the duration that you spend on the golf course, you may not be able to play as many holes as you would like.
MBST can repair worn cartilage and clear the pain symptoms of arthritis. MBST regenerates the joint surfaces and clears the pain. Treatment with MBST is for long term relief and repair.
